Kids health tips during the freezing winter

Here are few tips to keep the kids on pace with their health and strength during the freezing  winter...
Tip1 : Hydrated - Make them drinking water in the cold weather is not easy as they don't sweat as in summer. Rich Vitamin C source juices with low-sugar and Antioxidant drinks are great choices for winter which gives lot of immunity.
Tip2 : Kids go on very passive mode, watching TV, just playing inside home. It is parent’s responsibility to make sure that they get at least an hour active playing time which helps them burn the extra calories they accumulate. Few activities like taking them along when you go to laundry, letter box, trash, even make them help you in doing the cleaning work at home.
Tip3 : Exercise – Even for kids of small age, it is a good practice to keep them in the routine of exercise so it  keeps them fit and active when there is no outdoor play due to freezing winter.
Tip4 : Keep the First-aid kit ready with you all the time, make sure you have babyrub (Baby Vicks) which helps a lot when they get caught Cold and fever. Apply sunscreen when the kids go out to play on a bright day since they get sun burn easily on winter than on a summer day.
Tip5 : Dress them covering head to toe. Make sure their shoe/shocks are of proper fit to them. Always make sure they wear a hooded jacket, covers the head and ears keep them warm. Wear them wool instead of a cotton or other materials. Sleeping sacks during the nights are a good option.
Tip6 : Humidifier at home keeps the air around warm, more than that it keeps room not go dry. This extremely helps when kids get cold and having cough.
Tip7 : Educate them to cover their nose and mouth when coughing or sniffing, also stay away or not to touch objects or other children without washing their hands.
Tip8 : Keep your home warm. Make sure your home heater equipment settings are proper, not too cold as they can not withstand or not to warm which will make them to stick to home and not going out.
Tip9 : Help them avoid cold drinks instead encourage them drink more fluids, milk, soup and eat fruits, cooked vegetables.
Tip10 : Always encourage them to get out of home and have fun outdoor. Mark some time in their calender as outdoor play time and remind them to follow the calender as you do for your meetings.

Process to Apply US visit VISA and Documents required

I have gone through this process 2 times for my parents and for my in-laws, thought this might be useful for some more people like you.

Here is the list of documents you need to prepare before appearing for the VISA interview. You need to prepare the below "From the visitor" documents for blocking an interview date. "From the Sponsor" documents needs to be ready before going for the interview. Suggestion is, Start collecting the documents well in advance since few documents like bank statement takes time .

From the visitor
===========
1. passport
2. photograph - 50x50 cm with plain background (almost all photo studios knows the specifications of a photo for US Consulate)
http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/howtoapply.html - this is the official website of US Consulate, Chennai
3. DS-160 Online application - If you are the sponsor, you can fill it online, by just getting your parents ( or in-laws) passport details - print the confirmation page at the end.
4. VISA fee receipt from the HDFC bank ( amount is specified by the consulate, so before taking the receipt, check US Consulate webpage)
5. Use VFS to block the appointment date with the Consulate - HDFC receipt and barcode is mandatory

1. Property documents like a house or agriculture land papers
2. Bank statement showing the monthly income / pension

===

Kids vaccine/immunization chart India Vs United States and Travel vaccines

Kids are always the priority in life!
Always they are the origin for our happiness...even our worries start from them...that too when we plan to change the place we live, the worries becomes double. :-(
I had these situations to move back and forth with my kid from USA to India and back from India to USA. I searched enough to verify the immunization charts between the countries to get my kid vaccinated before I leave the country. It is always best to check with your pediatrician well before your travel dates for any specific vaccines for the area you will be traveling specifically.

When you travel from India to USA, make sure you enroll your kid in your insurance well in advance and schedule a pediatrician appointment as soon as you reach USA and confirm your kid is up to date with her immunization schedule.

When you travel from the USA to India, talk to your pediatrician and schedule a travel vaccination appointment. They usually give Typhoid and Malaria and one other Vaccination which I don't remember the name now. They don't give (at least my pediatrician did not give) Malaria vaccination, if your travel date is with in 2 weeks time, since the vaccination require at least a month time to take effect. For kids over 2 years they give typhoid vaccine.

Thanks for reading and have a safe and smooth journey!

Indians Buying Gold as an investment

Gone are the days buying gold in the form of Jewelry, now even the common people buys it as coins and makes investment on that.

There are two reasons for that. One is it makes a good profitable investment than any other investments like real estate or share markets, which were treated as reliable and high, two/three fold profit making investments couple of years before. The second reason is the fear that running with the current steep price increase on gold, will be able to buy them when we need it may be after some 10 years.

These two things makes even the low income group to invest on gold by monthly investments, there comes the mutual funds which invests on Gold. This increases the demand of Gold in the market.

There is another major thing which influences the gold price day by day, bullion buyers of gold and the Foreign Bullion Markets.

Regular statistics of gold prices year by year was showing a decrease in prices in the month of December, but the history is changed a bit this year. The prices haven't come down, but staying on its line.

With the given increase rate, as every analyst says Gold may not surprise us reaching its benchmark of 20k per 8gms of 22Ct.

World gold council says to invest on gold as to "Preserve your wealth". I think it is rightly said.
